Everything about Doors2India was very professional, from the drivers and hotel staff and especially our tour guide Anu. The small group size was especially beneficial for hearing all the detail and stories Anu had for us. And more than once Anu kept me from getting lost in the crowds. The early morning trips to the retail and wholesale markets were a special treat as I like seeing how the people live and work. This was my first fully guided trip, and I will do it again. Having just returned from an incredible tour of Agra organized by Vivek Sharma of Doors2India, I wish to share our experience. This tour exceeded all our expectations, making our visit to this historical city a truly unforgettable one. First and foremost, the organization by Vivek was flawless. Every detail was meticulously planned, ensuring a smooth and stress-free journey. From the comfortable transportation to the well-chosen itinerary, everything was tailored to offer the best possible experience. The highlight of the tour was our guide, Ali. His knowledge about Agra and its landmarks was astounding. He didn’t just recite facts; he told stories that brought the history of the place to life. His friendly and approachable demeanor made us feel at ease, and he was always ready to answer questions or offer additional insights. Visiting the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and other historical sites on December 25th added a special charm to the tour. Ali’s guidance through these iconic locations was invaluable. He knew the best spots for photos, the ideal times to avoid crowds, and fascinating tidbits that aren’t found in guidebooks. Moreover, the local cuisine recommendations provided by Ali were superb. He recommended us to have lunch at Dasaprakash - fresh, hot and delicious food. Wash it down with a cup of South Indian Filter coffee that is the best we have ever had. In conclusion, I highly recommend Doors2India for anyone looking to explore Agra. Their exceptional planning, combined with Ali’s expertise, made this tour a highlight of our travels. If you’re seeking an immersive, educational, and enjoyable experience, Vivek Sharma and Ali are the way to go.

The Golden Triangle Tour with Khajuraho is a blend of three of India’s most famous cities: Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, along with the UNESCO World Heritage site of Khajuraho, renowned for its ancient erotic temples and beautiful sculptures. The tour is usually 7 to 10 days and provides an in-depth cultural, historical, and architectural tour of North India.
A minimum of 7 to 10 days is ideal:
By Train: The trains, such as the Jahajuraho Express ( Jaipur ) are direct and their frequency is not limited (limited frequency).
Air Travel: Air travel can be done to Khajuraho through Jaipur or Delhi, usually through Varanasi.
By Road: A long drive (~10-12 hours), not worth doing unless as part of a road trip.
Comfort: Most of the tour packages will organise internal flights or personal transport.
The best period is between October and March, as it is pleasant.
Peak summer (April to June) should be avoided, especially in Khajuraho and Rajasthan, because of the extreme temperatures.
Khajuraho provides a spiritual and artistic touch to the conventional Golden Triangle. Its temples are characterised by sensual carvings, elaborate stonework and spiritual symbolism- a difference with the Mughal and Rajput architecture in Agra and Jaipur. It is also not commercialised much, and provides a relaxing conclusion to the tour.
It is family-friendly, yes, particularly for people who are interested in history, culture, and architecture. Although the temples of Khajuraho are characterised by erotic sculptures, they are portrayed in a respectable way and are a part of the Indian cultural heritage.
You can get luxury hotels (Taj, Oberoi, ITC) to cheap guesthouses and heritage hotels, particularly in Jaipur and Khajuraho. The majority of travel operators provide packages of 3-star, 4-star, or 5-star, depending on the choice.
Orchha (on the way to Khajuraho), with its palaces and temples, with riverside.
A tiger safari at Ranthambore.
Fatehpur Sikri is one of the destinations between Agra and Jaipur.
Is there anything on at the time of the festival (e.g. Khajuraho Dance Festival in Feb/March)?
